Bear Hit on 203

With the warm weather that Mammoth has been experiencing in the past week, some bears are out and about. Unfortunately, one bear's early rising led to his untimely death. At approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, Jan. 15, the large cinnamon bear that Steve says often sleeps next to Ace, was hit by a car on Hwy. 203. The bear was injured and had to be put down. It was weighed in at 448 pounds.

Don't Feed Our Bears

Co-existence with bears comes with responsibility. Do not approach animals in the wild, respect their habitat and above all, never feed wildlife.
